I want to share my paintings with the world and find a home for them. My paintings are to be a faithful record of the time they were made and should reveal periods of time in history. Sincerely, Gar Webb
Orange Sunshine Self Portrait

1969 - 30” x 36” Acrylic on Canvas. My first self portrait, age sixteen. I was a young hippy surfer and a Pisces fish on the horoscope so I decided to do a waterman self portrait to symbolize Orange Sunshine. Something a lot of kids experienced back in that period of time and history. Water transparent blues and greens dominate this painting. Big red lips centered and wavy mustache melts into a deep blue ocean with a black and red trimmed shirt in the bottom half. Aluminum foil painted gold circles creates sunglasses. This all expands into the nighttime space with a timeless full moon clock and one half of the orange sun missing and a half orange cut in half. The nose is expressed through a main sail of a sailboat in golden brown tiki colors. All of these elements come together in one harmonious expression of psychedelic modern art. Painting is in excellent condition.
