I want to share my paintings with the world and find a home for them. My paintings are to be a faithful record of the time they were made and should reveal periods of time in history. Sincerely, Gar Webb
Who’s Winning I 1970

1970 - 24” x 36” Acrylic on Masonite Wood Board. The first out of the three Who’s Winning Paintings; Who’s Winning I 1970 symbolizes the Cold War period in history. The painting is simple in design but don’t let the simplicity fool you. When this painting was painted, the world was on the eve of nuclear destruction between Russia and the U.S.A. The beautiful powder puff blue sky and ocean work well together with the red, white and blue of the American flag wave, to create this stunning image of world government. The painting took on a whole new meaning when I added the Russian Flag hammer, sickle, and star into the sun. Was the sun rising or setting was peoples’ most concern. This painting scared a lot of people back in that period of history. A lot has changed in the world since the Cold War, as can be seen in Who’s Winning II - 2009. This painting is in excellent condition.
